Information for Consignors

REGISTRATION

A consignor number is assigned once you have registered through our website. You may start entering your items online as soon as you have your seller number. The registration fee is $8 and will be deducted from your final earnings check. This fee is only $5 for a completed 3-hour volunteer shift.

CHECK-IN & DROP-OFF

Consignors choose a time for check-in either Wednesday or Thursday the week of the sale. Allow at least 30 minutes for check-in, as several of your bar-coded tags will be scanned and all your items will be inspected before being admitted to the sales floor.

Please bring a self-adressed, stamped envelope with you to Drop-Off as this is used to send your earnings check to you. Otherwise, $1 will be deducted from your earnings check.

** IMPORTANT ** We have no way of knowing whether the items you've entered online are actually brought to our sale. Therefore, we do not reimburse for missing items.

PICK-UP

Consignors can pick-up their unsold items on Saturday from 5pm-6pm. Any items remaining after 6pm on Saturday will become the property of Tots2Teens Upscale Kids and The Foster Care Support Foundation. Please make sure you check the "Lost Tag" area before you leave.

CLOTHING BRANDS ACCEPTED & NOT ACCEPTED

There are literally thousands of designers and boutique brands across the USA, Canada, Europe and other counties, so we aren't able to list every brand.

The brands we do not accept are on our "Brands Not Accepted" list.

Any Clothing item that still has the tags attached will be accepted regardless of name brand.  All New With Tag (NWT) clothing IS accepted.

We do not accept Discount Department store labels from Walmart, Target, K-Mart, Sears (except Lands End), JC Penney, etc.

Clothing must be Name Brand - everything else, including shoes, is accepted regardless of brand name.

Note: For the FALL/WINTER Sale all brands of Jackets, Pajamas and Ski Wear are accepted.

Note: For the SPRING/SUMMER Sale all brands of Swim Suits and Pajamas are accepted.

ITEMS ACCEPTED

Only Clothing must be brand-specific. We accept all other kids related items regardless of brand name as long as they are in excellent condition.

TAGGING

Our system is fully automated with bar-coded tags so everything is done online. You must be a registered consignor before you can begin tagging.

Include the brand name and a detailed description of each item on your tags. This helps to identify an item if the tag comes off and also inhibits tag-switching. For items over $10, please tape the pin to the tag once it is pinned on the item. This inhibits tag switching.

Please attach the tag to the upper left shoulder or upper left side of the garment using a safety pin. If pinning might cause damage to the fabric, then tag can be pinned to the garment's label. Please do not use straight pins. Tagging guns are acceptable.

Use Clear Packing Tape for items that cannot be pinned. Do not use masking tape, duct tape or scotch tape. Secure tag to item well enough so it will stay on in the midst of excessive handling.

Tape the top of zip-lock bags shut to prevent items from slipping out and getting lost.

Please do not put shoes in plastic bags.  Use ribbon or raffia to tie them together.

PRINTING

Tags must be printed on heavy card-stock paper 60#-67#, which can be found at Walmart, Target or any office supply store. Tags printed on regular paper will not be accepted.

Make sure your printer is set to DRAFT or NORMAL before printing tags. Not doing so may cause the bar-codes to be blurry and unreadable to the scanners. Unreadable tags must be entered by hand which can cause mistakes in inputting your information.

DONATION

Any unsold items you do not want back can be slated for donation. When entering your items, click the "Check to Donate" box. All clothing and items that are donated or not picked-up by sellers are donated to The Foster Care Support Foundation of Georgia. A tax-deductible receipt will be included with your check.

PRICING

In this market, retail stores are discounting heavily, so price competitively! Since you've done the work, you want to sell as many items as possible.

Price items what you would be willing to pay for them.  We recommend discounting items that have been gently-worn for 60-75% of original retail price and items that are in NEW or near-new condition for 50-60% of retail.  Do not over-price items or they will not sell.  Think:  Would you pay for it at a consignment sale?? Hint: Go to the store’s web site and price 50-75% off what a comparable item is listed for.)

Some brands sell better than others and can be priced a bit higher due to the brand name or demand for the item. If you are not an experienced consignor, price on the lower end for your first sale.  We allow pricing in $0.50 cent increments so if you are unsure if a price might be too high, drop it by $0.50.

SATURDAY DISCOUNT

On Saturday you have the option of allowing your items to be sold for 50% off the price marked on the tag.

If you do not want your item to be discounted on Saturday, do not check the "Check to Discount" box.

If you would like your item to be sold for 50% off on Saturday, click on the "Check to Discount" box.>

NOTE: Any items you are DONATING should be sold for 50% on Saturday.

HANGING

Clothing should be hung with open part of the hanger facing left like a question mark ( ? ).

Two-piece outfits should have the shirt/jacket hung on the hanger first, then  the pants/skirt pinned (through hanger) to the back of the shirt/jacket. Don’t hide the bottoms under the top. If the bottoms have a cute design on the front, then pin them facing out. If pinning will damage the fabric of the garment you may use a commercial 2-piece hanger.

  • Pin one shoulder of anything that my be pulled off the hanger easily.
  • Once you've pinned the tag, secure the pin to the tag with a piece of tape (preferably clear packing tape.) This STOPS tag switching. We require this for all items over $10.
  • Put a detailed description of the item on your tag.

NON-CLOTHING ITEMS

Matching accessories should be pinned securely to garment. Several items should be put in a zip-lock bag and pinned. Multiple items should be noted in your description so if something comes loose we can find the garment it goes with.

SHOES

Shoes sell better when they can be seen so do not put shoes in zip-lock bags. Shoes should be tied or pinned together securely. For shoes without straps or laces, tie a string or ribbon around them. Shoes must not be dirty or overly scuffed. Please do not bring shoes in shoe boxes.

TOYS

All toys should be wiped clean.

Large toys should have tag attached with clear packing tape on top of item or high-up on front.

Smaller toys must be new in original packaging. Games and puzzles must be unopened.

Battery operated toys must have working batteries in them and include instruction booklet if you have it.

It is your responsibility to check to make sure your item is safe:
